SRT - The sitting-rising test

Is an easy test which provides a significant and efficient prediction of mortality risk in elders. It's fun to do the test for anyone. The test was initially developed in the 1990s and then tested by Brazilian doctors. Subjects between the ages of 51 and 80, those who had the lowest score range were 5-6 times more likely to die within the study period (about 6 years) than those in the group with the highest scores.

Scoring

The two basic movements — lowering to the floor and standing back up — are each scored 5, then one point subtracted each time a hand or knee is used for support and 0.5 points subtracted for loss of balance; your result is number between 1-10.
